Change Voice and Language

Change voice and language

GSpeech voices can be set at the website level (default for all widgets) or per widget when you need a different voice for one player. Start with the website default; override only where it must differ.

  • Why useful — one brand voice everywhere, with exceptions for a promo player or a language-specific widget.
  • Website default — Settings / Voice: language, voice model, speed, pitch.
  • Widget override — enable “Use custom language/voice?” on that widget only.
  • Multi-lang sites — turn on multi-lang / on-fly translation options when the page language changes dynamically.

Open Cloud Console Dashboard map All How-tos

Set the default voice

  1. Open your website in the dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings (Voice / General) and choose default language and voice.
  3. Optional: adjust speed / pitch for AI voices; enable Voice Panel if visitors should pick a voice in the player.
  4. Save. Widgets that do not use a custom voice inherit this default.

Override on one player

  1. Open the widget (Multi-Page, shortcode, RHT, Welcome, or custom).
  2. Enable Use custom language/voice?.
  3. Pick language / voice for that widget only → Save.
  4. Hard-reload a page that uses that widget and listen.

For visitor-facing translation of selected text, see RHT + translation.

Voice & language FAQ

  • I changed the voice but still hear the old one?

Hard-reload. Cached audio may need a fresh generate after a voice change — play once on the live page, or check Smart Audio Sync / regenerate behavior for your plan.
  • Website is multilingual — what should I enable?

Enable multi-lang so the player follows the active page language. If translation is applied on the fly in the browser, also enable On-Fly Translation so the player waits for translated content.
